Chin-Chin heads the Firm's Property and Real Estate and the Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Groups. Chin- Chin has amassed more than a decade's worth of experience in the Court of Appeal, High Court, Family Court and Subordinate Courts where she has conducted numerous contentious and non- contentious matters. Her main areas of practice are in conveyancing, probate, trust and matrimonial law.

As the head of the Property and Real Estate practice group, Chin- Chin acts for financial institutions and individual clients in commercial and residential property transactions including disposition, acquisition, financing and leasing. Chin- Chin also advises clients on structuring complex property transactions. In addition, Chin- Chin also regularly acts for Landlords and Tenants in advising on tenancy issues.

Chin-Chin currently serves on the Board of Directors of a public-listed company and is a committee member of Fei Yue Community Services. Chin- Chin also serves on the Board of Touch Community Services, a charitable organization registered under the National Council of Social Service.

Daniel's legal expertise is much sought after by his clients, which include major insurance companies, banks, financial institutions and charitable organizations.

Lim Ker Sheon joined Messrs Characterist LLC as a Director on 1 April 2008 having previously practiced with the firms of Messrs Derrick Ravi Partnership (now Straits Law Practice LLC) and Asia Law Corporation. Ker Sheon also branched outside the legal profession into the areas of IT and Business Development Consulting in Singapore and China for a period of about 2 years.

Ker Sheon has acted as legal counsel on corporate and litigation matters for Statutory Boards, Quasi-Government Institutions, hospitals, and for both MNCs and SMEs in the construction, IT, education, logistics and retail industries.

Ker Sheon also serves as Secretary and Legal Counsel on the Management Board of the Andrew and Grace Home (a Home for teenage girls in crisis), and also teaches law on a part-time basis with the PSB Academy (undergraduate engineering courses). Ker Sheon is a frequent speaker on the seminar circuit, primarily in the areas of Commercial law and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Ker Sheon's primary areas of practice are in corporate law and IT-corporate law. He advises corporate clients on Mergers and Acquisitions, local and international Franchising, legal and operational aspects of product development (including Intellectual Property rights, efficacy and costs), drafting of commercial contracts, drafting of tenancy agreements and renewals, drafting and/or reviewing standard form Purchase Orders, Invoices, Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Ker Sheon is also involved in criminal law, civil litigation with an emphasis on construction litigation, commercial arbitration, mediation, dispute resolution and debt negotiation and management. Ker Sheon has been involved with cases as diverse as the defence and acquittal of clients involved in wildlife smuggling, cross-border Mergers and Acquisitions and local and overseas franchises.

Lee Terk Yang

Mr Lee Terk Yang graduated with a LLB (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2003. He was previously with the firm of Messrs Tan Rajah & Cheah for a period of 5 years before joining this firm. He has a varied legal practice and as part of his portfolio, he would handle matrimonial, criminal, employment, debt collection, MCST, medical negligence, estate and probate, as well as other general civil litigation matters. His clients include SMEs, sole proprietorships and also various individuals. Terk Yang has forged close working relationships with all his clients and as a result, he is able to have a good understanding about each of them, and is also able to develop a keen sense for their individual needs.

Soccer is a great passion to Terk Yang, and between 2000 and 2002, he actually played soccer professionally. After spending 2 years as a full-time footballer, Terk Yang decided that Law, is his calling and hence his decision to rejoin the legal profession.

Outside of practice, Terk Yang is firmly committed to his family and serves actively in his Church as a Worship Leader and Guitarist. He is also actively involved with both the Law Society of Singapore and the Singapore Academy of Law. He has been appointed to sit on the Academy's Membership   Social Committee (since 2006). With the Law Society, he is currently a Council member (since 2005) and has sat on the Executive Committee (2006-2007) and on the Finance Committee (as the Assistant Treasurer in 2007). He is the current chairperson of the Law Society's Social   Welfare Committee (since 2007) and is also actively involved with the Young Lawyers' Committee as well as the Sports Committee. Still having a great passion for soccer, Terk Yang is also the Captain for the Law Society's Premier Soccer Team.

Adrian heads the firm's Criminal Litigation and Advocacy Practice Group.

Adrian's main areas of practice are criminal, civil and commercial litigation. He has acted in a number of cases involving capital punishment, as well as property, immigration, violent and sex offences. Adrian has also acted in a number of commercial crime matters, including investment fraud, false accounting, forgery, market manipulation and corruption. Adrian is an active member of the Legal Assistance Scheme of Capital Offences (LASCO), an initiative by the Supreme Court to ensure that all accused persons facing capital charges are represented by counsel.

Apart from criminal defence work, Adrian also advises corporations who have been the victims of fraud on internal and external audit, compliance, disclosure and employment issues arising as a result of Police investigations. In addition, Adrian helps develop internal investigation protocols for clients in order to streamline and facilitate their internal investigation processes.

Adrian's civil and commercial litigation portfolio includes breach of contracts, breach of director’s duties, tenancy, restraint of trade, defamation, debt recovery and medical negligence. In 2011, Adrian acted in an administrative law matter against the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) which ultimately served to clarify the manner in which the SMC was required to account to persons who lodged complaints.

In addition to his litigation portfolio, Adrian also advises local and multinational corporations on a wide range of corporate and commercial issues. Adrian’s client base includes statutory boards, listed- companies, insurance companies and small and medium enterprises. Adrian is a regular speaker at legal seminars and conferences for both legal practitioners and laypersons and was a founding member of the Association of Criminal Lawyers in Singapore (ACLS). Adrian is also a volunteer lawyer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS), a non- profit initiative by the Law Society of Singapore to provide assistance to the needy in criminal cases. Adrian is a contributing author of Singapore Civil Procedure 2007, published by Sweet and Maxwell Asia.

In addition to being an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore, Adrian is also called to the bar as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

Eugene Tay Chian Yi

Eugene was called to the Singapore Bar in 2005. After a stint at his first firm Lee & Lee handling conveyancing matters, Eugene worked as a Probation Officer in the Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports where he worked closely with youth offenders placed on probation. He returned to private legal practice in 2007 having gained valuable insight into the juvenile justice system and probation system. His current practice is in civil and criminal litigation.

Dominic is an Associate Director in the Firm's Civil and Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in May 2006. Dominic spent 6 years with the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of one of Singapore's largest law firm, where he worked with experienced counsel, including Senior Counsel. Dominic's main area of practice is civil and commercial litigation and he has broad- based experience in construction law (including building defects claims), banking and securities law, insolvency law, tenancy disputes, employment issues, property law (including several high- profile en- bloc disputes), trust law and Mareva injunctions. He constantly deals with challenging issues of law and procedure, including private international law and foreign law and eppears regularly before the Singapore courts. Dominic also has a good track record in assisting his clients in achieving favourable results by way of negotiated settlements. Dominic is also a voluteer lawyer with the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS), a non- profit initiative by the Law Society of Singapore to provide assistance to the needy in criminal cases.

Qianliang graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Leeds in 2008 and completed the Part B Singapore Bar examinations in January 2011. He was called to the Singapore Bar in August 2011.

Having performed his training contract with the firm, Qianliang has been heavily involved in various areas of legal practice including litigation and conveyancing. Qianliang’s practice covers a wide spectrum of conveyancing, civil and criminal litigation as well as probate matters. As part of his desire for self-development, Qianliang participates actively in various law conferences and legal seminars and endeavours to use his legal knowledge to act in the best interests of his clients.

In addition to his conveyancing portfolio, Qianliang has also been actively involved in civil trials as well as matters in the areas of administrative law. Outside of legal practice, Qianliang is a volunteer lawyer with the law society’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) to provide legal representation to underprivileged individuals in criminal cases. A firm believer of the need to maintain a healthy work-life balance, Qianliang is actively involved in sports such as badminton and football.
