Characterist LLC is a full- service medium law firm. Its roots were established in 1978 by Mr Lie Kee Pong, who founded Lie Kee Pong Partnership. In 2007, Lie Kee Pong Partnership merged with another growing law firm, Characterist LLC. The Firm has steadily grown from a sole- proprietorship to a multi- disciplinary law firm that is able to offer comprehensive legal solutions while retaining expertise in specialized areas of practice.

Know Our Team

  • Lie Kee Pong

    Consultant

    Notary Public

    The founder and a former partner of the firm. Mr Lie had with effect from 3 January 2006 become the Consultant of the firm. Previously, Mr Lie served in the government service for many years and last held the posts of Assistant Registrar of the Land Titles and Deputy Registrar of Deeds. Mr Lie was appointed a Notary Public since 1988.

    Commissioner For Oaths

    Chin-Chin heads the Firm's Property and Real Estate and the Family and Matrimonial Law Practice Groups. Chin- Chin has amassed more than a decade's worth of experience in the Court of Appeal, High Court, Family Court and Subordinate Courts where she has conducted numerous contentious and non- contentious matters. Her main areas of practice are in conveyancing, probate, trust and matrimonial law.

    Daniel heads the Firm's Civil and Commercial Litigation and Insurance Practice Groups. Daniel's litigation experience consists of a diverse spectrum of subjects including insurance, medical negligence, personal injury, matrimonial, criminal, probate, shipping and construction disputes.

    Lim Ker Sheon

    Ker Sheon's primary areas of practice are in corporate law and IT-corporate law. He advises corporate clients on Mergers and Acquisitions, local and international Franchising, legal and operational aspects of product development (including Intellectual Property rights, efficacy and costs), drafting of commercial contracts, drafting of tenancy agreements and renewals, drafting and/or reviewing standard form Purchase Orders, Invoices, Terms and Conditions of Sale.

     

  • Lee Terk Yang

    Mr Lee Terk Yang graduated with a LLB (Hons) degree from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2003. He was previously with the firm of Messrs Tan Rajah & Cheah for a period of 5 years before joining this firm. He has a varied legal practice and as part of his portfolio, he would handle matrimonial, criminal, employment, debt collection, MCST, medical negligence, estate and probate, as well as other general civil litigation matters. His clients include SMEs, sole proprietorships and also various individuals. Terk Yang has forged close working relationships with all his clients and as a result, he is able to have a good understanding about each of them, and is also able to develop a keen sense for their individual needs.

  • Eugene Tay

    Mr Eugene Tay was called to the Singapore Bar in 2005. After a stint at his first firm Lee & Lee handling conveyancing matters, Mr Tay worked as a Probation Officer in the Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports where he worked closely with youth offenders placed on probation. He returned to private legal practice in 2007 having gained valuable insight into the juvenile justice system and probation system. His current practice is in civil and criminal litigation.

  • Adrian Wee

    Adrian heads the firm's Criminal Litigation and Advocacy Practice Group.
    Adrian's main areas of practice are criminal, civil and commercial litigation. He has acted in a number of cases involving capital punishment, as well as property, immigration, violent and sex offences. Adrian has also acted in a number of commercial crime matters, including investment fraud, false accounting, forgery, market manipulation and corruption.
    Adrian's civil litigation portfolio includes tenancy, restraint of trade, defamation and other commercial disputes as well as debt recovery. In addition to his litigation portfolio, Adrian also advises local and multinational corporations on a wide range of corporate and commercial issues.
